About Registration
A Jamboree unit is a group of either Scouts or Venturers (or similar aged
youth from WOSM or WAGGGS members) who, along with 2 registered adult leaders,
camp and attend jamboree programs as a group. A Scouting group can send
more than one unit to a jamboree as long as each unit fills the registration
requirements. A Jamboree unit consists of a minimum of 5 youth
participants and two adult leaders (7 in total) up to a maximum of 8 youth
participants with two adult leaders (10 in total). Every unit must have
two adult leaders. Units cannot be a mixture of Scouts and Venturers.
Units must print the completed online registration confirmation and
forward it, and one (1) cheque with fees, to: Scouts Canada, CCJam’09
Registration, c/o Susan Sweet Lebeau, 157 Towerhill Road, Peterborough, ON K9H 7N7
Unit fees (deposit or full fee) must be received at the Jamboree Office to
process the registration (which includes prioritizing the unit for Program
Selection). All fees are payable by December 01, 2008. The optional
payment plan is as follows:
- Deposit $100.00 per participant, due on registration
- Payment of additional $150.00 per participant, due by
October 01, 2008
- Balance of additional $100.00 per participant, due by
December 01, 2008
**Note: Scouts Canada
does have a No One Left Behind Fund available. For information and
application process, please go to:

providing the information should you be interested, it is your individual
responsibility to proceed.
Jamboree Fees:
The Central Canada Jamboree fee is $350.00 per participant (youth and
adult). The Jamboree fee covers attendance, participation in program
activities and a ‘welcome package’ including a neckerchief, woggle, crest and
more. The fee does not include food or transportation to and from the
Jamboree (shuttle service will be provided from the local train station and from
Toronto’s Pearson International Airport
for Units arriving together).
Refunds:
Full refunds will be issued until March 31, 2009. Participants
withdrawing after March 31, 2009 there will be no refunds issued, however,
participants may be substituted.
Fee refunds will be made to the group the unit is affiliated with,
addressed in care of the contact leader.
CCRA Tax Receipts:
The jamboree organizing committee is unable to provide tax receipts for
child tax credit purposes. We will not know who actually paid the fees,
nor whether fund raising events contributed to assisting with the payments.
Issuance of tax receipts will be the responsibility of the unit contact leader.
While we feel that CCJam’09 meets all eligibility requirements, we provide
neither confirmation nor guarantee of this. For more information we have
provided the following CRA government web links:

Program Selection:
The program activity priority your unit is assigned is based on the date
your registration deposit is received, and whether or not your total fees have
been received on time (December 01, 2008). To ensure the best selection of
your unit’s chosen activities, register with deposit as soon as possible and be
sure to have all fees paid by December 01, 2008.
Requirements to Attend CCJam’09:
All jamboree participants must be registered members of Scouts Canada,
L’Association des Scouts du Canada, Girl Guides of Canada or any member
organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement or the World
Association of Girl Guides, both at the time of registration and at the time of
the jamboree. Adult participants must fulfill the screening requirements for
the organization including a valid PRC (Police Records Check) and VSC
(Vulnerable Sector Check) or acceptable equivalent on file at the time of the
jamboree. The CCJam experience is designed specifically for youth of typical
ages 11 through 17. In all cases, it is expected that leaders will ensure that
the youth have the appropriate knowledge and skills to contribute successfully
to an eight-day camping experience and are adequately prepared for the program
activities chosen.
Special Needs:
Please check the Special Needs box if your unit has participants requiring
special needs facilitation, and complete the Special Needs details box.
(note: Identification of special needs has no impact on assignment of
program activity choices).
Camping Together:
If you desire to camp adjacent to another unit of the same section (Scout
or Venturer) so as to share equipment, please indicate their unit information in
the space provided. Your unit and the unit you are camping with will
not have common program activity schedules.
Confirmation and Other Correspondence:
Your unit will receive confirmation of registration with an invoice for
full fees once your on-line registration is completed. The confirmation
form and fee payment must be mailed to the Jamboree Office. Payment
receipt and invoice balance will be forwarded to the contact leader along with
your unit identifier. The contact leader will also receive regular unit
bulletins, information on program choice selection, medical forms, and other
information once the deposit has been received.
Adding, Withdrawing, Substituting Participants:
It is in your unit’s best interest to make any changes to the make-up of
your unit as soon as possible. Participant personal information changes
(ie. Address changes, phone number changes, etc.) are to be made with the
registrar, via email at
registrar@ccjam09.com, in a timely manner. The online registration system
will be frozen on March 01, 2009 or camp capacity.
Units may substitute a new participant for an existing participant at any
time, without penalty.
